Shocking New News

I don’t read the news the way I used to: too much violence, slick conspiracies, updates on rich white young people, (insert something else depressing or irrelevant to my life) so for a headline to capture my attention is rare.

For example, it is rare that college athletes get dismissed from their university. It has to be something that embarrasses the school. DUI, cheating on test, stalking - HA! No one even has to know. I have seen college athletes do in person do some shit that would get my ass five to ten years in a local Tennessee prison next to NRA aficionados.

Did you know that Pedobear used to be a college athlete?

The rules are different for college athletes and this is especially true in college towns (cities that revolve around the college campus). The number one thing for them is money, point blank. It’s not until they an athlete embarrasses their reputation that they lose some clout which in turn affects money from donors with their … ok I’m gonna stop there cause I would love a sponsor :) . But it is obvious that the # 1 goal is to win; to win is to add to your reputation. Conduct can be swept under the rug, tossed into the sea, and all evidence blown to bits by the atom smasher wrapped inside the rug with an adamantium rope tied together by Kryptonian strength. So I am always curious when they are dismissed. It’s like, “What did you do that was that bad?” Here’s the headline:

“Nebraska wrestlers dismissed after posing nude” but if they wanted to give you the complete context it would say, “Nebraska wrestlers dismissed after posing nude (for a gay website).”

Associated Press

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Two Nebraska wrestlers, including one who won an NCAA championship in 2007, have been dismissed from the team after posing naked for videos and photographs on an Internet pornography site.

Paul Donahoe and Kenny Jordan were let go Tuesday, three days after a blog posted images of them taken from Fratmentv.com, a Web site featuring naked or partially clothed male athletes.

"The history of behavior of these men, including the current matter, does not reflect the standard of excellence we aspire to on and off the mat," coach Mark Manning said in a statement. "We have outstanding student-athletes in our program and we will move forward in a positive manner toward our goals.

"I want to personally apologize for any embarrassment that may have been caused for our athletic department, the university and our fans," Manning said.

My thoughts went in this order, “Hmmm… huh… ohhhh, LMAO!” *wipes crying tear* Ok ok ok ok, so peep this: One of the guys has paid fines for possessing or consuming alcohol as a minor, trespassing and assault (who the hell can afford to pay fines for all tho ...keep going). None of that merit’s a dissmissal, but posing nude for a gay audience does. I don’t know much about Nebraska and would simply assume that most folks there are Christian, and would not approve so then the university has no choice otherwise it looks as if they condone or do not mind gay culture. Shrug.

Another crazy story was the recent ruling by a court that a woman must pay $ 1.92 million for 24 songs ($80,000 each) she downloaded via an unnamed P2P service. Read that last sentence one more time.

(CNN) -- A federal jury Thursday found a 32-year-old Minnesota woman guilty of illegally downloading music from the Internet and fined her $80,000 each -- a total of $1.9 million -- for 24 songs.

Jammie Thomas-Rasset's case was the first such copyright infringement case to go to trial in the United States, her attorney said.

Attorney Joe Sibley said that his client was shocked at the fine, noting that the price tag on the songs she downloaded was 99 cents.

She plans to appeal, he said.

Cara Duckworth, a spokeswoman for the Recording Industry Association of America, said the association was "pleased that the jury agreed with the evidence and found the defendant liable."

"We appreciate the jury's service and that they take this as seriously as we do," she said.

Thomas-Rasset downloaded work by artists such as No Doubt, Linkin Park, Gloria Estefan and Sheryl Crow.

This was the second trial for Thomas-Rasset. The judge ordered a retrial in 2007 after there was an error in the wording of jury instructions.

The fines jumped considerably from the first trial, which granted just $220,000 to the recording companies.

Thomas-Rasset is married with four children and works for an Indian tribe in Minnesota.

Yeah, it’s outrageous. Some of you are probably uninstalling Sharezza, Limewire or whatever it is that you use right now, but I still have a load of questions about how this information was obtained. Each time these lawsuits occur, no one ever mentions HOW they caught anyone. Think about it: they would sue everyone if they could. Much more effective would be shut down all torrents and P2P services but they can’t so they ruin one single mother’s life along with the next however many generations of her family just to SCARE YOU. Sadly, I bet everyone in her family is trying to get adopted, become a refugee in Iraq, something, anything, cause NO ONE WANTS THAT DEBT.

"Yeah it is tough out here, but it's better than being two million bucks in debt."

You either laugh or get mad. I’m just gonna eat these cookies, sip this mil.. What’s that? Cow flu in milk? *spits milk on computer monitor*

Another unnecessary happening:

Animal group PETA condemn Barack Obama fly murder

PEOPLE for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is upset with US President Barack Obama killing a fly during a televised interview - and are sending him a parcel to prove it.

The Daily Telegraph reports PETA is sending President Barack Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside.

“We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals,” PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said.

“We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals.”

During an interview for CNBC at the White House on Tuesday, a fly intruded on Mr Obama’s conversation with correspondent John Harwood.

“Get out of here,” the President told the pesky insect.
